DIG

Compact figures give full character casts room on the shelf.

TL;DR

  • DIG was established in Tokyo in July 2023, and its earliest verified character assortment was announced that August.
  • The fixed-pose DIGSTA line is deepest in Like a Dragon, while the articulated DIGACTION line favors Fist of the North Star and Baki Hanma.
  • The male-character-led catalog is central to DIG's value, with supporting fighters and villains receiving figures alongside the leads.
  • Japanese list prices reviewed run from ¥3,850 to ¥19,800 (about $25-$130 USD), and BBTS lists the maker under the misspelling "Digism."

The earliest verified figures came from a fishing manga

DIG's earliest verified character assortment was a four-figure salute to Tsurikichi Sanpei, a fishing manga marking its 50th anniversary in 2023. The August announcement covered Sanpei Mihira, Gyoshin Ayukawa, Yurippe, and Sanpei fighting a king salmon. DIG used digital printing for the colors of the fish accessories, making its production method visible in the opening set.

The company had been established in Taito-ku, Tokyo, only one month earlier, in July 2023. Its official profile describes a business built around statues, articulated figures, and plastic models, with digital technology as the common tool. Opening with an older fishing property was an interpretive clue to DIG's direction: compact formats could support specific characters and full groups that larger formats often leave scattered.

DIGSTA grew around Like a Dragon

DIG announced Ichiban Kasuga in November 2023 as a 175 mm DIGSTA statue priced at ¥9,460 ($65 USD), with a planned June 2024 release. The fixed-pose line now includes Kazuma Kiryu, Goro Majima, Taiga Saejima, and Shun Akiyama, along with Battle Style versions and reissues. That continuing roster makes Like a Dragon the clearest expression of DIGSTA's appeal: a collector can build a cast instead of stopping at one protagonist.

DIGSTA also gave Yang Wen-li and Reinhard von Lohengramm from Legend of the Galactic Heroes matching ¥9,900 ($65 USD) releases. The 2026 schedule widened the line again. Revy from Black Lagoon is listed for October at ¥14,300 ($95 USD), Hitori Gotoh and Nijika Ijichi from Bocchi the Rock! are ¥12,100 ($80 USD) each, and Captain Majima from Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is listed for December at ¥15,400 ($105 USD).

These later figures do more than add female characters to a male-heavy shelf. Revy uses a special acrylic base carrying art by Black Lagoon creator Rei Hiroe, while the two Bocchi the Rock! figures share school-festival maid outfits. DIGSTA is developing from a game-character roster into a broader compact-statue line without giving up the cast-building idea.

DIGACTION builds male heroes and villains

DIGACTION is the articulated line, generally around 1/24 scale. For DIG's human characters, that usually means about 70 to 90 mm tall. Kenshiro is 80 mm and ¥5,500 ($35 USD), while the Raoh and Kokuoh set keeps the same approximate scale with a 90 mm rider and a horse 170 mm long for ¥9,900 ($65 USD).

The Fist of the North Star roster extends past its central hero to Rei, Toki, Jagi, Souther, Shu, Juda, Shin, Heart, and a Zeed gang member. Baki Hanma, Yujiro Hanma, Kaoru Hanayama, and Retsu Kaioh bring the same ensemble approach to Baki Hanma at ¥6,050 ($40 USD) each. Takumi Fujiwara from Initial D sits at the low end of the current character range at ¥3,850 ($25 USD).

This male-character focus is part of DIG's value to the encyclopedia, not a narrow exception to it. DIGACTION makes supporting fighters, rivals, and villains the structure of the line, using a small scale to keep both shelf space and prices manageable. The 80 mm Columbia Pictures Torch Lady, which can take a torch pose or a dancing pose, also shows that the format can carry an unexpected license.

Buying DIG in 2026

Japanese list prices reviewed begin at ¥3,850 ($25 USD) for Takumi Fujiwara and reach ¥19,800 ($130 USD) for the four-figure Tsurikichi Sanpei box. Most individual DIGSTA statues sit between ¥9,460 and ¥15,400 ($65-$105 USD). DIGACTION singles are usually ¥5,500 or ¥6,050 ($35-$40 USD), while two-character and rider sets can reach ¥9,900 ($65 USD).

A first look at DIGSTA should start with Like a Dragon because it shows the line's sustained roster, compact size, and use of digital facial printing. Kenshiro offers the plainest introduction to DIGACTION, while Raoh and Kokuoh show how the small scale handles a mount. These are editorial starting points, not quality rankings, because the reviewed sources do not yet support a settled cross-line owner consensus.

North American buyers will encounter one naming wrinkle. BigBadToyStore groups matching DIGSTA, DIGACTION, and DIG Kawaii ACTION products under "Digism," although the manufacturer uses DIG and 株式会社ディーアイジー. Searching both DIG and Digism is therefore useful when comparing stock. By August 2026, the official store showed 18 DIGSTA listings and 16 DIGACTION listings, with Revy, Hitori, Nijika, and Captain Majima extending the schedule through December. DIG's catalog now has a clear shape: compact figures that let overlooked casts, especially male casts, accumulate real depth.
