From resin kits to finished figures

The earliest Orchid Seed listing located in HLJ's archive is not a finished PVC figure. It is Petoko, a nine-part resin garage kit released in February 2006. A garage kit is an unpainted resin figure that the buyer cleans, assembles, and paints.

Five months later, Carmen 99 from Gun x Sword appeared as a completed and painted 1/6 figure. Together, the two listings capture Orchid Seed changing formats near the start of its catalog.

The official company profile dates the Yokohama firm to March 18, 2005. In April 2026, an Orchid Seed and Phalaeno online event marked the company's 21st anniversary and offered another limited garage kit alongside finished figures. The kit format became a smaller part of the business, but it remained visible in the company's public activity.

Licensed heroines built the main catalog

A 2010 Lineage II collaboration shows Orchid Seed working directly with a license holder early in its finished-figure era. NC Japan announced the 21 cm Dwarf Female as the follow-up to Orchid Seed's Elf and credited OSIRIS of Heavy Gauge for the sculpt. The figure was made from PVC and sold as a completed, painted product.

Super Sonico gave the catalog several large recurring figures. The Berry variant of SoniComi Package Ver. stands 33 cm tall at 1/5 scale, while Summer Vacation reaches 35 cm at 1/4.5 scale. The latter was listed at ¥22,000 ($145 USD) on Hobby Japan. Large proportions and removable display parts became recurring features, not a single novelty.

The licensed range kept widening. Yumiko Sakaki from The Fruit of Grisaia reached retail in 2016, and the Dragon's Crown Sorceress returned in a 2026 reissue, a new production run of the older figure. Rosario + Vampire's Kurumu Kurono was listed for July 2026 on Hobby Japan at ¥17,930 ($120 USD). This catalog works especially well for character-focused collectors who prefer substantial fixed poses over completing one uniform line.

Tuberosa+ names the adult catalog

Tuberosa+ is an Orchid Seed product label, not a separate manufacturer. Hobby Japan files Tuberosa+ products under Orchid Seed and places an age gate on its adult listings. The cited Kanako and Nekopara releases use cast-off construction, meaning clothing can be removed or body sections can be exchanged for an adult display option.

Kanako Tateshiba from Ane Taiken Jogaku Ryo shows how elaborate the format has become. The 28.5 cm, 1/5.5 scale figure uses clear material for the hair, top, and shawl. It includes two top treatments, replacement lower-body parts, and cast-off options at ¥30,800 ($205 USD). The product record names Tuberosa+ as the brand.

The label also carries licensed characters. Nekopara's Vanilla Micro Bikini Maid DX is a 29 cm, 1/5.5 scale figure scheduled for December 2026 at ¥33,000 ($220 USD). The DX edition is the expanded package: it adds a removable bra top and a replacement lower body, and a matching Chocola was announced for the same month. Tuberosa+ therefore extends Orchid Seed's established interest in removable parts into a clearly identified adult range.

Buying Orchid Seed in 2026

The verified 2025 and 2026 Japanese list-price sample begins with the 1/7 Kokuten Tae reissue at ¥16,830 ($110 USD) and reaches ¥33,000 ($220 USD) for Nekopara's Vanilla DX. Between them sit the ¥22,000 ($145 USD) Super Sonico Summer Vacation reissue, the ¥28,600 ($190 USD) Death Ball Suzuran, and the ¥30,800 ($205 USD) Kanako Tateshiba. The lower end is led by returning sculpts, while the upper end contains newer figures with larger bodies and more parts.

HLJ's Orchid Seed filter currently holds 109 records, including 98 completed models and nine resin kits. BigBadToyStore also lists Orchid Seed for North American buyers, with Super Sonico, Dragon's Crown, and Grisaia represented in its catalog. The current catalog mixes reissues with new work. Dragon's Crown Sorceress, Kurumu Kurono, and large Super Sonico figures keep earlier sculpts available, while the Nekopara pair carries Tuberosa+ into December 2026. Orchid Seed's 2026 schedule shows a manufacturer using its archive while still adding new figures.
