TL;DR

  • Otherwhere debuted with clean sculpting, strong illustrator partnerships, and a polished presentation. Smooth surfaces remain a recognizable quality across the lineup.
  • Shenzhen-based and active since roughly 2021. Releases are organized into named series: GALACTIC for small, poseable streetwear figures with movable glass eyes, Revelebal for figures based on illustrations, and Come On Stage for performance-themed characters.
  • Both static display pieces and articulated action figures under the same brand, at roughly 6,600 to 41,000 yen ($44-$270 USD). Available on AmiAmi and PlazaJapan.

A Polished Debut with Illustrator Partnerships

Otherwhere's debut, the Konno 1/7 scale (illustrated by Aimee Lia, sculpted by Chiho), closed pre-orders in December 2021. The quality of that first release set the tone: clean sculpting, strong illustrator partnerships, and a presentation level that suggested the studio knew what it was doing from day one.

The Shenzhen-based company also operates Party Look as a sister brand for mature content, a clean separation that lets collectors choose their comfort level while both brands share the same sculptors and production capabilities.

GALACTIC, Revelebal, and Moving Glass Eyes

The way Otherwhere organizes its catalog sets it apart. GALACTIC covers small, poseable streetwear figures with interchangeable sneakers, high heels, and functional skateboards. Revelebal turns original illustrations into display figures, while Come On Stage handles performance-themed characters. Illustrator collaborators include Ulrich, Kekemotsu, Biya, Sue, and Maden.

Sculptor 'Mr. Ji' and sculptor Chiho have defined the brand's visual identity. Mr. Ji's smooth, polished surfaces are recognizable across the lineup; Chiho is credited on releases from Watanabe Sayaka to GALACTIC Luna. On MyFigureCollection, the Fang Li 1/6 sits at an 8.67/10 average.

Rapid Infrastructure, Growing Distribution

The GALACTIC line's movable glass eyeball system with gaze-adjustment tools is a feature most action figure collectors have not encountered before. It adds a level of display customization that rewards time spent posing and adjusting.

Otherwhere has accumulated 40+ products on the figure database Hpoi within roughly three years. Buyers can also find the brand through Japanese retailers AmiAmi and PlazaJapan, giving it broad retail access despite its short track record.
